About the Team
Future Planning program is within the BHP Technical Functions team, Resource Centre of Excellence (RCoE) as part of the BHP Technical Functions.
Future Planning is a multi-year program focused on "advancing BHP’s approach to mine planning” and provides new and innovative approaches to planning across the value chain horizons.
The team mission is to advance BHP's approach to resource planning for predictable delivery of chosen business plans.
This is an integrated program that encompasses people, processes, and technology initiatives. It consists of three workstreams dedicated to:
- Strategic long term resource decision making (Enterprise Choice Optimisation - ECO).
- Probabilistic planning from the medium term to executable budget mine scheduling (Enterprise Mining Probablistics - EMP).
- Production excellence focused on plan compliance and quality product management throughout the value chain (PE).
About the Role
As the Manager Future Planning, your purpose is to provide leadership to team across all streams, focuses on conceptualising, planning, strategically prioritizing and implementing products(s).
Reporting to Head of Future Planning, your key deliverable is to support and assist in leading the deployment of Future Planning across BHP sites in alignment with our deployment roadmap.
About You
We are looking for qualified mining professionals with management experience across mine planning and execution to join the future planning team.
As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Mining Engineer or similarly qualified mining professional with significant mine planning experience across multiple planning horizons (long, medium, short).
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team of professionals in a matrix structure.
- A key influencer with site operations and mine planning personnel with strong communication and engagement skills.
- Understanding of the BHP Operation System (BOS),or experience in an improvement role would be highly regarded.
- Program or Project leadership and management skills to assist with the strategic direction and execution of the program aligned to the Program Strategy and Outcomes.
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to think differently and facilitate change to improve practices.
Location
The role can be based in Australia corporate offices in Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth. This is global role where site travel requires to support Future Planning deployment activities. To find out more about working with BHP and to meet some of our team, click here.
